Coerver® England & Wales Director, Scott Wright, recently returned from the Spanish capital where he was invited to present at the Madrid International Football Congress which was hosted in the city at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos between Friday 30th June – Sunday 2nd July 2017.

The congress was organized in partnership between the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) and Emtrenar Football Institute, with coaches from all levels of the game traveling from across Spain and South America to attend the three-day event.

Guest presenters were handpicked by RFEF master coaching director Daniel Guidos, who also works within the academy at Real Madrid CF, with the objective of providing Congress attendees with a global view of the latest football coaching methods.

In addition to Scott, guest presenters who work and have worked at some of the world’s leading clubs and national federations including the RFEF, Juventus, River Plate, Ajax and FC Porto delivered alongside experts working at the highest level in Futsal and a number of Olympic sports.

“I am extremely honored to have been invited to present at such a prestigious event and thank Daniel Guidos from the RFEF for inviting me and for also bringing together people with many differing views on the game which lead to some very interesting discussions” said Scott.

“My presentations were well received, the first one was based on the 33-year evolution of Coerver Coaching and the second based on the importance of ball mastery and 1 v 1 skills teaching”.

“I had a number of coaches from the national federation and La Liga clubs discussing with me afterward that they felt Coerver could play a very important part in the evolution of both coach and player development in Spain and subsequently there has been a number of follow up emails so watch this space!”.

“Having worked regularly in Spain since 2012, it’s a place I always enjoy visiting. Continuing the work I have been doing with the Real Madrid CF university over the last four years and now with the RFEF/Emtrenar Football Institute is something I am really looking forward to as we head into the new season”.
