June 2017 has seen Coerver® Coaching England & Wales partner with MATCH! Magazine to develop a new weekly skills series for young readers. The partnership sees Coerver® EW become the official skills partner working with one of the highest selling football magazines in the country which is specifically tailored for the 8-13 age group.

The MATCH! Academy partnership provides the magazines young readers with a library of tutorials for the development of skills that they can work on at home. Players can access articles in the magazine which are supplemented by bespoke video content on the MATCH! Academy website and social media platforms.

The articles and videos have been based on the skills of some of the top, adidas® sponsored  players in the world within this Play Like The Stars series which launched with a UEFA Champions League final special featuring Real Madrid full back Marcleo and Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic. Following an England Vs Scotland special featuring Dele Alii subsequent articles have been based on James Rodriguez, Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado.

Scott Wright, Director of Coerver® England & Wales said “It has been great to extend our working relationship with MATCH magazine having worked on a number of features together over the last couple of years. This new series is by far the best we have produced with the video content to support the magazine articles all having been filmed specifically for this project. We have had tremendous feedback so far and I’m sure that many young players across the country and further afield have been inspired and motivated to practice hard on their skills at home which is something that we place a great importance upon.”

“We have some very exciting projects in the pipeline to develop our partnership with MATCH and extend our reach beyond the magazine it-self and website content, so watch this space ahead of the new season.”

This weekend will see Coerver® EW director Scott Wright travel back to Madrid to present at the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) / Emtrenar football Institute, International football Congress hosted by Rey Juan Carlos University from Friday 30th June – Sunday 2nd July 2017.

Having worked at the Real Madrid university in March 2017 for the fourth year running, Scott will join guest presenters who work and have worked at some of the world’s leading clubs and national federations including the RFEF, Juventus, River Plate, Ajax and FC Porto.

Further presenters working at the highest level in Futsal and Olympic sports will present to delegates during the annual three-day congress which will bring together professional coaches from across Spain.

“It’s obviously a massive honour to have been invited to present at such a prestigious event” said Scott. “The RFEF are without a doubt one of the truly elite national federations in world football and have a development model in place, both for players and coaches, which has brought huge success for the nation on the international stage from junior to senior level.”

“Only last night their U21’s have reached yet another major final which is such an important part of the development process if the players are to make the next step up to success in senior international football.”

“Having worked in Spain regularly since 2012, one of the things I know is that as a nation they are always looking at ways to improve and they take coach education and development very seriously. Also having worked on the Real Madrid CF university MSc course in talent ID and football development for the last four years, I’ve learned a lot about the development process not only at Real Madrid but also as a nation.”

“I would like to thank RFEF MSc coaching course director, Daniel Guidos, who also works at Real Madrid CF, for the invitation to present. It’s great that someone of his standing, knowledge, and experience in Spanish coaching and player development values the contribution we can provide.”

“The organisations and individuals I have worked with here really see the benefits that the Coerver programme can add to the development model that currently exists in Spain and I’m really looking forward to working with the delegates of the Congress in Madrid this weekend.”

Updates from the weekend will be shared across @coerverEW social media channels during the weekend.

Coerver® Coaching England & Wales are pleased to announce that on-line booking is now open for our Youth Diploma 2 course which will take place at the Watford FC Academy in London on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th October 2017.

This follows the last Coerver® Youth Diploma 2 course delivered in England & Wales which was also hosted in London, during May 2016, at Millwall FC. The course will be delivered by Coerver® Coaching co-founder Alf Galustian, who will be assisted by Coerver® England & Wales Director Scott Wright.

The Youth Diploma 2 course expands on the knowledge obtained during the Youth Diploma 1 and is based on how to develop a team style through individual and small group skills, both in and out of possession.

“We are really looking forward to delivering this Youth Diploma 2 course at Watford FC academy in October and welcoming coaches from across the world who have previously attended our Youth Diploma 1 course in the many countries we are operational in” said Coerver® England & Wales Director, Scott Wright. “The location of the Watford FC academy is perfect for coaches that will be flying in due to the close proximity to Heathrow airport. This was an important factor in our planning of facilitating the course at this location – a factor which will make it as easy as possible for attendees to travel to and from.”

“At the time of writing, there are only two Youth Diploma 2 courses scheduled for the whole of the 2017-18 season in Europe, so we expect demand to attend this course will be at an all-time high. With this in mind, we offered coaches that had attended the Youth Diploma 1 course in England and Wales a 72-hour priority booking window which expired today at midday which has seen approximately 75% of all available places being booked and the course is now on general release.”
“The concept of our Youth Diploma 2 course is to expand on the knowledge gained in our Coerver® Intro and Youth Diploma 1 courses and focuses on the development of a team style. This isn’t in a tactical or formation sense but a technical and mindset sense with the proviso that you can only play a certain way within the team structure if you have players that possess certain individual and small group skills as well as a particular mindset.”

“This course will also provide the rare opportunity to learn directly from Coerver® co-founder Alf Galustian who will be sharing his thirty three plus years of applied knowledge and experience working at all levels of the game with course attendees, so this is sure to be a weekend which will be hugely valuable for all.”
